Larbert Musical Theatre (LMT) is the new name for Larbert Amateur Operatic Society (LAOS). LAOS was established in 1922 and have been entertaining audiences in Larbert with pantomimes and musicals for nearly 100 years!
However, times are always changing and we felt the name no longer reflected current life as well as the company ethos and the professional productions that we put on. It was proposed at our AGM that we changed name and the company overwhelmingly voted in favour.
We then asked the company for suggestions of what the new name could be. The committee narrowed it down to two choices. The company then voted for their favourite and that was Larbert Musical Theatre!
Our new look
We wanted our new look and logo to reflect the company’s ethos and values as well as what our audiences thought of us. So, we ran a survey with company members to get their thoughts and views and this was then used to inform our new look.
Committee members worked closely with Midas Design who have devised our new shiny logo and designed our sparkly website. We love our new look and hope our audiences do too!
Looking to the future
The last couple of years have been tough due to the COVID-19 pandemic but we’re raring to go and can’t wait to get back on the Dobbie Hall stage as Larbert Musical Theatre!
We may have a new name and look, but we are still the same company guaranteeing our audiences a high standard of musical and pantomimes for many years to come!
